Family and Animal Meet-and-Greet
The Moeller Family children have accumulated quite a variety of pets throughout the years. Two of which are pictured here above. Meet Alex and Noel... our miniature donkeys that are spoiled with plenty of our apples and family-friendly neck scratches. These are just two of the many family animals that will be waiting for you during the animal meet-and-greet sessions throughout the coming year.
Planting, weeding, and Harvesting
From April through October, we will have several days open for people to come and learn to work and harvest the many types of vegetables and herbs that we grow on our farm. For us, as well as many others, this is a relaxing are rewarding experience. There will be several of these days scheduled; but if your schedule doesn't match with our scheduled days, please let us know. We work our gardens nearly every day and we will be glad to try and find a way to work out a day that will be best for you.
Food Preservation
If you would like to learn food preservation, we would love to help you get stated by giving a starting point for you to acquire the confidence to begin your own family food preservation adventure. The majority of our food comes from our farm so we dehydrate, water bath can, pressure can, smoke and store many different foods. These processes have taken us years to learn, and some may find it a bit overwhelming at first, but learning hands-on and having someone to show you step-by-step and answering any questions you may have…you will soon find preserving your food to be such a rewarding experience. Just knowing that you are feeding your family fresh foods will give you a great sense of satisfaction each meal. If you are not able to plant your own garden, buying from fresh food markets is another way to get produce to preserve healthy food for your family.
These classes will be offered as produce is ready to harvest from the fields. The sooner you process/preserve your food after harvesting the better it will be for nutritional value and taste. So please let us know what you are interested in preserving and we will notify you when that session is available. For example, let us know if you are interested in preserving green beans, salsa or soups, or meats.
